Now I understand why Agatha Christie is called the Queen of crime!  ‘And Then There Were None’ is the world’s best-selling mystery. With over 100 million copies sold, it is one of the best-selling books of all time. And deservedly so! The novel is addictive. It is truly a masterpiece.

Agatha Christie’s craft is remarkable. She creates ten characters who are all individually invited for a summer holiday to a remote island. None of them have a clue about the host but they accept the invitation.  Things appear strange when their host isn’t there when they arrive. Soon they realize that they are going to be punished by death for the crimes they committed in the past and got away with. One by one, they meet their deaths in a manner predicted by the silly yet ominous nursery rhyme ‘Ten Little Indians’ poem with the conclusion of “… and then there were none”. The guests soon realize that the murderer is one of them. Every murder leaves others more terrified and paranoid. Now it’s a game of survival for the rest. Who will be next? Who is the murderer and what is his motive? The questions will keep you glued till the end.

It’s a fantastic novel, full of mystery and suspense. The secluded and remote island with no phone or transportation makes for an ideal setting. Getting stuck on an island with a maniac on the loose…just imagine how frightening and scary that can be! This book will accelerate your heartbeat, confuse you like anything, make you jump in fright and most importantly, it will take you along on an exceptionally brilliant and thrilling ride. This is undoubtedly one of the best crime fictions I have ever read.

If you have not read this awesome piece of fiction yet then do yourself a favor- go grab a copy and read it at the earliest. Highly recommended!
